GAUTENG OFFICE OF THE PREMIER POST: CHIEF DIRECTOR: GENDER, YOUTH, DISABILITY RIGHTS AND OLDER PERSONS (GEYODI) REF-05047 Centre: Johannesburg Directorate: GEYODI Salary: R988 152 per annum (All inclusive remuneration package) REQUIREMENTS: Post-graduate qualification in Social Sciences or other relevant academic discipline. Minimum of 5-10 years’ experience in a senior management position. Extensive experience in mainstreaming the rights of vulnerable groups with a focus on policy, programme coordination, monitoring, advocacy and strategic partnerships relating to Gender, Youth, Disability Rights and/or Older Persons. Knowledge of relevant national and international policy and legislative frameworks and instruments and government environment. Competencies: Advanced strategic planning and organizing skills; analytical, conceptual and writing skills; strong leadership, people management, conflict resolution and interpersonal skills; good programme and project management; stakeholder management; communication, public speaking and presentation skills; good financial, human resource management and other management skills. DUTIES: The incumbent of the post will be responsible for the following: Ensuring the promotion of the status and rights of women, youth, people with disabilities and older persons in Gauteng in line with the Constitutional, legislative and electoral mandate. Short and medium-term strategic planning and policy development on gender, youth, people with disabilities and older persons. Coordinate implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the gender, youth, people with disabilities and older persons provincial programs of action. Strategic policy advice, thought leadership and research on gender, youth, people with disabilities and older persons. Strengthen inter-governmental and stakeholder collaboration and partnerships to give effect to policy priorities and programmes. Coordinate programmes around key commemorative months and days. Coordinate advocacy and public awareness initiatives on GEYODIOP rights. Design and implement systems, processes and structures to ensure institutionalization and mainstreaming of GEYODI across the province. Management of the Chief Directorate.
