GBAM!!! Chelsea FC Should Let Juan Mata Go in the January - TopicsExpress

GBAM!!! Chelsea FC Should Let Juan Mata Go in the January Transfer Window. The closer we get to January, the more rumours fly regarding certain players and certain teams. One person who has been subject of much attention is Chelseas two-time Player of the Year, Juan Mata. Such rumours have come from places like The Mirror, who claim that interest is coming from Spain and Italy, and The Daily Star, who reported interest from PSG as well as a few Premier League clubs. Regardless of whether these rumours are true or not, there is no doubt that, should Chelsea wish to sell Juan Mata, there would be considerable interest from big clubs, both at home and abroad. The aforementioned news sources have both claimed that Chelsea could ask for as much as £40 million, and it is for this reason that they should consider selling. One thing is certain, Mata is an incredible player. He was once the backbone of the Chelsea team, helping them to two European titles, and one of the few players who shone in disappointing Premier League campaigns for the last couple of seasons. However, in this new Jose Mourinho set-up, there has been little space for Juan Mata to make the impact that he once did. And since Chelsea are considerably better placed than they were in previous seasons, you have to agree that Mourinho has made the necessary decisions to create a winning team so far this season. And Oscar has certainly come into his own as Chelseas new playmaker. As a result of this, Chelsea do not need Mata as they once did. They have more than ample depth in attacking midfield, in the form of Willian and Schurrle to name just two, and if they are going to let Mata leave the club, they should do so sooner rather than later, as they will fetch a better price. A big deal for Mata would also allow Chelsea more transfer funds to buy the striker that they so desperately need, and perhaps a couple of defensive players too. Obviously it would be a bad move to allow Mata to go to one of Chelseas Premier League rivals, especially in a tight race, so the Blues should only sell if a deal can be made with a foreign team. Mata has claimed that he is still happy at Stamford Bridge, but you have to wonder how long he will continue to be content with only a handful of appearances, every few games. A move to sell Juan Mata would not only be good business, but it would be mutually beneficial for both parties. That is why Chelsea should cash in now and say thank you, but goodbye.
