GCT during his tenure as PM once mentioned that we are Singapore Incorporated , implying that Singapore is a company and ALL Singaporeans are stakeholders, by virtue of providing fundings to the GICs and Temasek Holdings in the form of our CPF savings. As in all other companies, stakeholders are entitled to the profits of those companies they have invested in based on the values of the shares against the number of shares owned. In this regard, the returns on our CPF must be based on the profitability of the GICs and Temasek Holdings rather than the miserable 2.5% to 4.0% interest currently paid into members CPF accounts.
