GENERAL NONSENSE Sometimes it takes a while to recognise beauty. These photographs from 2011 were lying unedited, tucked away in an old hard drive. Probably, i didnt find them good enough for editing then. Today, I accidentally stumbled upon these old gems and boy! I was in for a surprise. A minor retouch here, a crop or change in aspect ratio there and these photographs turned out, compositionally speaking, far superior to the ones I back then considered as worthwhile shots. Just to set things in perspective, these images were shot with a fairly ordinary Point & Shoot camera by somebody (thats me by the way) whose photographic skills hadnt quite matured beyond pressing the shutter button. So there is no question of the basic design principles being applied at the time of framing these images. And yet, mysteriously, today the same images seem to exhibit a fairly good degree of proportion, symmetry and balance; after minor editing. How ?? My hunch is that there is abundant beauty concealed within every image captured, irrespective of who captures it. Revealing it, however, requires a little PERSPECTIVE. :-)
