GET TO KNOW SRQ - Join me on an stroll around one of Sarasotas most desirable (& historic) neighborhoods - LAUREL PARK. Steps to downtown Sarasota, eclectic Laurel Park takes you back to the 1930s...or so architects tell me as I wasnt alive in the 1930s. :) Laurel Park boundaries include Ringling Boulevard to the north; Mound Street (aka 41 or Tamiami Trail) to the south; South Orange Avenue to the west; and 301 (aka Washington) to the east. Conveniently located by foot to Burns Court & Palm Avenues boutiques & cafes, Laurel Park attracts people who desire convenient access to Downtown and eclectic, historic, smaller-cottage-like homes. No cookie-cutter homes in Laurel Park where towering oak trees provide shade, accentuating the early century look & feel. Homes resemble cottages & villas, not 5,000sf McMansions. Unless home is a tear down or significantly in need of work, a typical (updated) home in Laurel Park sells for ~$375/sf. Currently, a few homes are listed for sale in the mid $400s. As more and more condo complexes dot the landscape Downtown, one of my favorite condo complexes is Kanaya, built in 2007 located across the street from Burns Courts shops, boutiques, and cafes currently boasts 4 condos for sale from $1.1MM to $1.35MM. Luxury living Downtown SRQ. Designed & built according to Feng-Shui principles, this 35-unit building was crafted with health, beauty, and spatial harmony in mind. Kanaya features a Japanese garden, meditative labyrinths, a saltwater aquarium, and two outdoor gardens. Spacious floor plans feature open designs, high ceilings, city and Bayfront views, private and secure elevators to each suite, roomy kitchens and luxury baths. Enjoy secure access to the building and garage area where each resident is allotted two parking spaces. Unique to Kanaya is the commitment to health-conscious construction and design. Features include an anti-allergen air system and UV lighting designed to eliminate fungi, bacteria, and various pathogens. A reverse osmosis system filters the water, the insulation is formaldehyde free, and the pool uses bromine versus chlorine—to name just a few health-related details. Other amenities include two gyms—one dedicated to Pilates and yoga, and the other equipped with traditional cardio and strength-related training equipment. A lovely area for social gatherings, along with a fully equipped kitchen, is adjacent to the 60-foot solar-heated pool and deck area. For a healthy lifestyle, a peaceful home, and a location that accommodates those who love being in the heart of the city, consider Kanaya for your home. My wife & I enjoy lunch at Burns Court and a nice long stroll around Laurel Park. At this time of year, I also really enjoy an early evening stroll around Palm Avenue - art galleries, boutiques, restaurants, & Christmas decorations. Hope you enjoy my little drive-around video of Laurel Park. If you have questions about Laurel Park living (and real estate), please contact me. This is Sarasota Lifestyle. And you thought only cookie cutter homes, condos, McMansions, and beach cottages comprised SRQ. Just wait until you and I drive around other equally COOL Sarasota neighborhoods. Youll swear I blindfolded you and drove out of Florida. If you dont know SRQ, youll enjoy my Get to Know SRQ video series. Okay - its your turn. What are your thoughts of Laurel Park? #burnscourt #sarasota #laurelpark #sarasotalifestyle
