GMA Network confident of primetime lineup As rival network ABS-CBN continues its barrage of premieres at the end of 2014’s first quarter, GMA Network remains confident the new shows they bombarded on TVLandia much earlier in January and February will stay strong in the ratings game. “GMA Network remains at the forefront in creating innovative programs on primetime TV that tug the Filipinos’ heartstrings as more and more viewers get addicted on Kambal Sirena, Carmela: Ang Pinakamagandang Babae sa Mundong Ibabaw, and Rhodora X,” said a statement from the network’s Entertainment TV to The Manila Times. Beginning with its most recently launched series, Kambal Sirena, the group reports the show quickly caught the interest of the viewers with its unique storyline and fresh love triangle in Louise Delos Reyes, Mike Tan and Aljur Abrenica. The show is directed by Dondon Santos. Expectedly making waves in the network war is Carmela: Ang Pinakamagandang Babae sa Mundong Ibabaw, whose lead star is GMA Network’s reigning queen Marian Rivera. Created by Suzette Doctolero of the My Husband’s Lover fame, the series features a powerhouse cast comprised of Agot Isidro, Raymond Bagatsing, Jennica Garcia, Rochelle Pangilinan, Roi Vinzon, Freddie Webb, Eva Darren, Krystal Reyes, Ana Feleo, RJ Padilla and Laurice Guillen. “Carmela mesmerizes its viewers with its gripping storyline, and the powerful portrayals of the lead stars, as its TV ratings continue to increase steadily,” continued the statement. Besides showcasing Marian’s dramatic chops, the production is specially proud of veteran actor Vinzon, who continues to prove he is a very compelling antagonist. Meanwhile, the intriguing drama series Rhodora X has also hooked primetime viewers following its strong performance and dominance in TV ratings nationwide. It has consistently edged out competition in its timeslot. Rhodora X is topbilled by Jennylyn Mercado, Yasmien Kurdi, Mark Herras and Mark Anthony Fernandez, under the direction of Albert Langitan, and tackling the psychological condition of Dissociative Identity Disorder in a family setting. With this line-up, the GMA Entertainment TV group, headed by Lilybeth Rasonable as executive in-charge of production, promises the public a continued effort in “setting unparalleled innovations in the slate of drama programs that continue to delight and entertain televiewers nationwide.” Kambal Sirena, Carmela: Ang Pinakamagandang Babae sa Mundong Ibabaw, and Rhodora X air weeknights after 24 Oras weeknights. manilatimes.net/gma-network-confident-of-primetime-lineup/86158/
