GMT YouTube TRIBUTE PAGE - Hi everyone---Grand Master Tony Somera was the one and only person on the planet, designated by Grand Master Emeritus Leo Giron, to be the successor and torchbearer for the Giron ® Arnis Escrima system. Upon GME Girons passing, in 2001, GMT took Bahala Na ® Martial Arts into the new millennium, spreading the art all over the United States and Europe. We lost GMT one year ago today, 10/28/13, and the void in our art and in our hearts, for many of us, may never be filled. Today, with approval of Master Joel Juanitas, and Master Kirk McCune (who came up with the idea), I am launching the OFFICIAL GMT TRIBUTE PAGE on YouTube. It has been created to share the love for Giron® Arnis Escrima that GMT had, and to show the world what a jewel we had in Grand Master Tony. GMT was a private man--he probably would not have approved of something like this--but more than anything, this page is for US. This is for our Bahala Na® family, WORLDWIDE to have an opportunity to see our friend and teacher, move again, hear his voice again, and to be reminded of the generosity, kindness, genuineness, and fervor for our art that this man exuded. It is also to remind us to continue to strive to become, at least, half the Escrima master and expert Escrimador/Arnisador, and martial artist that GMT was. The page is a work in progress. I video footage from the early 2000s that need to still be transferred to digital. I will post what I can as I can. If you have footage you would like to post on the page, please private message me, and we can go over how we can make that happen. I loved my teacher very much, and my heart is still sore without him, but on this day, the 1st anniversary of his passing, lets not remember his death, but celebrate his LIFE.
