GNR STEAM CRANE MOVE Following the recent successful re-railing - TopicsExpress

GNR STEAM CRANE MOVE Following the recent successful re-railing of Railcar No.1 on the third road carriage shed the Site squad turned its attention to reconnecting the fourth carriage road. Unfortunately the track in the shed build is askew to the old track where the biggest obstacle is the resident GNR Steam crane. It would have been impossible to slew this track so it was decided that there was enough room at the Larne end, once the jungle was cleared, to extend the siding by 25ft. Sleepers and rail were dragged manually into position as access by machinery was impossible.. Once all was levelled and connected up the steam crane was pushed down the siding by the Atlas. The track has now been slewed and will be reconnected next week. See Denis Campbells video of crane move. https://youtube/watch?v=5F6Wp-hRwaQ&feature=youtu.be
