GOD BLESS Bara Timur (Java Jazz Festival, 2012) Bara Timur is a song written by guitarist Ian Antono for his project Gong 2000 and was released on Gong 2000 first album Bara Timur, released in 1991. The song was performed by God Bless (where Ian is also as guitarist) at Java Jazz Festival 2012. Bara Timur inserting elements traditional Balinese music into rock music. Ian Antono: Ian Antono is an Indonesian guitarist and songwriter. He is best known as God Bless lead guitarist since 1974. Other notable collaboration was Gong 2000, which was established in 1991 until 1996. Ian Antono was also recognized as one of the very first rock guitarists in Indonesia. In 1999, Ian Antono was invited in a Formula-1 event, which was also a collaboration with G3 (Joe Satriani and Steve Vai) and rock legends, Jethro Tull. God Bless: God Bless is an Indonesian hard rock / progressive rock band founded in 1973 by Ahmad Albar, Jockie Soerjoprajogo, Fuad Hassan, Donny Fattah, and Ludwig Lemans. It continues to be active and has received several awards from the Indonesian music industry. In 1975 the band opened for British rock band Deep Purple when the latter played in Jakarta. In July 2011, the band played at the Hard Rock Cafe Jakarta to celebrate its 40th anniversary. The following month, from 22 to 24 July 2011, the band performed at the InterMusic Java Rockin Land alongside The Cranberries and Neon Trees.
