GOD PROVIDES A SAVIOR: FROM ESTHER TO JESUS, HE MAKES A WAY OF DELIVERANCE! Over the past two weeks, weve been taking a look at how God providentially rescued His chosen people, the Jews, by working through ordinary men and women of God and a set of circumstances that could only be possible through The Almighty! (Esther 1-8). But Gods deliverance of the Jews through Esther was but a pale foreshadowing of His indescribable act of deliverance through Jesus Christ! In this session, we turn to that unparalleled story of Good News and salvation! Interestingly, God would again turn to a faithful, young maiden in His rescue mission. However, Mary, like Esther, would be but a servant in Gods providential plan. The Savior of the world, Jesus Christ, would take on human flesh through the Israelite people--the Messiah long foretold (Gen. 3:15). As prophesied, He would be a descendent of Abraham through the line of David (Matt. 1:1), born to a virgin (Isa. 7:14) in the little town of Bethlehem (Mic. 5:2). Yet, His existence would not begin in Bethlehem or with any human woman. Rather, as the Apostle John explains in his gospel, Jesus was and is God and, as God, has existed for all of eternity (past and future). When He stepped into our world as the God-Man, the Sinless One from Above, He was uniquely suited to take away the sins of all humanity. So, to all those who would come to Him in faith and accept His once-and-for-all sacrifice as atonement for their sin, they are given a relationship with God and a future home in Heaven (Jn. 3:16). Therefore, we celebrate Christmas not only to remember the miraculous birth of our Lord but to, at the same time, proclaim the Good News (Gospel) of Christ, Who has come to save all people, of every nation, in every generation. We will be studying this wonderful Truth as told by Luke, chapter 2, verses 8-20: Jesus birth announced by angels!! I look forward to studying with you Sunday!! May all the honor, glory, and praise be unto Him!! Have a blessed week!! Shelly 💛
