GOD WANTS TO MANIFEST HIS GLORY THROUGH HIS PEOPLE WHO WILL ACT OUT OF OBEDIENCE AND FAITH TO HIS WORD!!! ESTHER 4:12-17 “When Esther’s words were reported to Mordecai, he sent back this answer: ‘Do not think that because you are in the king’s house you alone of all the Jews will escape. For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father’s family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to royal position for such a time as this?’ Then Esther sent this reply to Mordecai: ‘Go, gather together all the Jews who are in Susa, and fast for me. Do not eat or drink for three days, night and day. I and my maids will fast as you do. When this is done, I will go to the king, even though it is against the law. And if I perish, I perish.’ So Mordecai went away and carried out all of Esther’s instructions.” REVELATION 12:11 “They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the Word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death.” There are several points that need to be emphasized in this narrative that were written for us as examples and warnings on whom the fulfillment of the ages has come. The first point is that this is the only Book in the Bible where God was not mentioned. I believe that this was done purposely by the Holy Spirit to show us that He purposely hid Himself and wanted His people to act in obedience and faith to save His people in the face of almost certain annihilation, since it was the most trusted man of the king who initiated the pogrom of the Jews with the full support of the king who issued and signed a decree to effect this project. God wanted His people to act in faith and obedience and He was going to ensure their victory so that He may be Glorified in a pagan nation. The second point is that Queen Esther and Mordecai were purposely created for such a time as this. It is God Who determines the times and places we are to live (ACTS 17:26). Thirdly, Esther had to overcome her fear of death by her faith in God in order for her to fulfill the purpose for which she was created just as we who were placed by God at this time and place need to do if we are to fulfill God’s purpose for our lives and save God’s people. Fourthly, Esther had to break the king’s law about not appearing before him unless summoned because she had to observe the higher l law of God, which was to use the position God gave her to intercede for God’s people and save their lives. The fifth point is the fact that she did not confine her actions to prayer and fasting, but followed it up with a bold act of faithful obedience to God even in the face of her own probable demise. JAMES 3:14-15, 20-22 say, “What good is it, my brothers, if a man claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save him? You foolish man, do you want evidence that faith without deeds is useless? Was not our ancestor Abraham considered righteous for what he did when he offered his son Isaac on the altar? You see that his faith and his actions were working together, and his faith was made complete by what he did.” This gave God an opportunity to be Glorified by ensuring the success of their obedience in the face of insurmountable odds. The king and the nation of Persia came to recognize Yahweh as the true God and Esther and Mordecai, who acted boldly and faithfully were promoted! May God’s people hear what the Spirit is saying to the churches! GLORY, PRAISE HONOR, AND THANKSGIVING TO GOD MOST HIGH!!
