GODFATHER TRILOGY REVIEW: The Godfather (5/5) - This is an offer that you must never refuse. The Godfather is one of the greatest movies of all time. So when someone offers you a chance to view the film, take it. The Godfather has everything: great acting from Marlon Brando and Al Pacino, brilliant direction from Francis Ford Coppola, haunting screenplay by novel author Mario Puzo, poignant storytelling and magnificent theme. The Godfather Part II (5/5) - Probably one of the greatest sequels ever made, The Godfather Part II is as good as the first film, but it can be better. Al Pacino has done it again, portraying the protagonist Michael Corleone powerfully, hallucinatory, viscerally, realistically and viciously. And at the meantime, Robert de Niro shows one of his greatest movie roles as the young Don Vito Corleone. De Niro manages to possess the statistics of what Marlon Brando brought to his character. The Godfather Part III (3.5/5) - An epilogue to the first two films, this one didnt manage to grab the very same success the first two movies maintain. Instead, the movie is a little drowned with melodramatic fashion, a confusing performance from Sofia Coppola, lack of character development and pacing. But yet, this is still a proper ending to The Godfather saga. While Pacino didnt recapture what Michael Corleone was in the previous movies, he manages to play the character one last time in a good way. And Andy Garcia is a worthy addition to the cast, with his suave performance that serves as one of the movies highlights.
