GODLY MEN Men/Fathers, We applaud you this day and celebrate with you for overcoming the daily attempts of the devil whose mission is to falsely accuse you, and to sift you like wheat. It is known that Adam acted irresponsible and disobeyed God when he ate of the fruit. He placed more credit to what Eve had to say than what God had said. God stated in Genesis 2:16-17. “And the Lord commanded the man, saying, of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.” Instead of listening and obeying God, Adam obeyed his wife. “And, unto Adam He (God) said, because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee saying, thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake: in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life…Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field…In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shall thou return.—Genesis 3:17-19. Men, we are called to love and to serve our wife, but above all we must obey the Christ in us. Thank God for Jesus Christ, for He came and redeemed us from the curse of the law. However, it the midst of all things and all mankind, we are to STAND for TRUTH. Ephesian 6:12-13—“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the ruler of darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places…Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to STAND.” We continue to have the responsibility to hear and willingly obey Christ Jesus. We are called to be Prophet, Priest, and King of our home. In all things, it is our responsibility to ask of the Lord the manner and the direction He desires for us to flow. Once we have heard, know that our faint in Christ will not fail us. It is not our responsibility to ask the wife/woman. If we yield our responsibility to the wife, know that when Christ returns, we can’t say, “Lord it was that woman you gave me”.
