GODS WORD FOR TODAY Romans 8:29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren (KJV). Gods purpose is for us to be conformed to the image of His son, Jesus. His purpose from the foundation of the world, for which He foreknew and predestined us, was for us to be axactly like the Lord Jesus. To the religious mind, the Lord is Jesus is up there and we are down here; He is so great and we are so small, like little ants. Jesus is our Big-brother, and Hes not a far-away or distant big brother; Hes right among us, fully identified with us and inseparable from us. Hes with us (Matthew 1:23). We arent children of different parents; Jesus isnt our half-brother. Were born of the same stock, born of the same heavenly Father. This is too big for the religious mind, nevertheless its the reality. This is what Christianity is about. Its the reason we study our Bibles, pray, go to church and do everything we do as christians- it is to be conformed to the exact image of the Lord Jesus Christ. God doesnt want there to be any difference between us and Jesus; He wants angels, demons and men to look at us and see our Christ-nature, and regcognized our Christ-identity.
