GOD’S GIFT OF LOVE John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” So great and wonderful was the love of Jesus toward us that He actually gave Himself for us. The one thing that is necessary is that we should rightly understand and firmly believe His surrender for us. Yes, Jesus gives Himself to prepare for Himself a pure people. When we believe that He gave Himself to do this for us, we shall certainly experience His true love for us, and experience the gift of salvation and the joy of salvation. We shall be purified through Him, shall be held fast as His, and shall be filled with enthusiasm, passion and joy to work for Him and be true witnesses for Him. The more we understand and contemplate Jesus’ surrender of Himself for us, the more we give of ourselves to Jesus. The surrender is a mutual one. The love comes from both sides. Jesus’ giving of Himself makes such an impression on our hearts and that our hearts with the same love and joy becomes entirely His. We know that we have Jesus completely for us and that He has us completely for Himself. Through faith we live in Jesus who loved you and me and gave Himself for you and me. And we say “No longer do I live, but Christ liveth in me.” In His great love, the father gave His only son. It was out of love that Jesus gave Himself for the redemption and ultimate sacrifice of our sin. That taking and having of Jesus is the entrance to a life in the love of God: this is the highest life. Through faith we must press into love and dwell there for-ever. In Jesus Christs name I pray, who lives and reigns with the Father and the Holy Spirit One God forever and ever. Amen
