GOOD MORNING CANADA!!!!!!! And let me tell you just how good. I am in Khartoum at Mageed and Amals home with their 3 beautiful children. This was the first home I stayed at last time I visited Sudan. I love being here and so when I tuned on the laptop, when the kids were being taken to school, the first thing I saw was an amazing message from 3 very special little girls at home in London. I will post it to my timeline to share with all. How good I feel knowing these girls (and Mommy) are thinking of me as I too am thinking of them. So, remember the days when milk was delivered to the home?? No? I am showing my age then. I also used to walk down hte road to the Finchs with a jug and bring fresh milk for my mom. Well... the other day I heard a donkey braying and went to look off the balcony to investigate and saw a man with his cart and donkey and the cart was loaded with stainless steel milk canisters and the neighbor came out with a big pail into which fresh milk was poured right there from the back of the cart.!. How cool!!!! So we too can have fresh milk delivered but we get our milk from Rufaa. My brother-in-law has a herd of goats and we get about 10 gallons every two or three weeks. He also brings cow milk. We have a pot that sits on all 5 burners and the milk is strained and boiled and stored in smaller pails in the freezer till needed. Every night before bed a jug of goats milk and tea is set out with biscuits for a bedtime snack. They also pour a ton of sugar in as well so needless to say I do not partake. Anyway to recap, fresh milk, delivered to house, by donkey. HOW COOL IS THAT? Oh, and my sister, Becky, named my little plant, that is stuggling along, Saffire, since she came from South Africa. Also... a cat somehow got in our yard. White with black markings, opposite of Chicklet. I didnt name it because it was promptly chased out. Oh well. Ill say goodday now as we will soon be heading out, hopefully to the souk, and I must dress myself for another great adventure. Oh, I almost forgot, Isabel is 3 months old. Alhamdulilah. Stay warm, and ill write soon, love from Khartoum, Kimmie.
