GOOD MORNING JESUS James 4:13-17 NLT Look here, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we are going to a certain town and will stay there a year. We will do business there and make a profit.” How do you know what your life will be like tomorrow? Your life is like the morning fog—it’s here a little while, then it’s gone. What you ought to say is, “If the Lord wants us to, we will live and do this or that.” Otherwise you are boasting about your own plans, and all such boasting is evil. Remember, it is sin to know what you ought to do and then not do it. The trouble is that we plan and live forgetting this truth. Personally, I forget because I lose perspective. I get carried away and my focus shifts to money or self-worth. All of a sudden I’m making decisions and trying to accomplish so that I can do what I want to do…and live how I want to live. Being led by the Holy Spirit is part relationship with God and part willful surrender to His will; a will not my own. If I decide today that I want what God wants for my life, then I am one step closer to being able to respond to and embrace my future, whatever that may be, in a way that is honoring to God. He knows what is coming next whereas we do not. My prayer today is that we would walk in step with the Holy Spirit, recognizing the sovereignty of God every day. Seek FIRST His Kingdom... HAVE A BLESSED DAY
