GOODIES From The BUREAU Of A.T.F. (Animation Table Favourites - *) : FEELIN FRESH - FRESH Inspired by Felix Mensah & his Musical Respite interludes, this rockin ditty was a HUGE fave of mine in College (circa 1978) and still is to-day (Mellisa [G.R.H.S. :( ] and I played this at our wedding [22/11/2000]) The ensemble was inspired & influenced by SLY & The FAMILY STONE and their 1978 MOTOWN label m8s RARE EARTH (FRESH stated out as FRESH START in 1974, and continued as FRESH until the end of the group in Autumn 1979) Fronted by Lead Vocalist BILL PRATT (Seen on Far Left in Group Photo) the band was a potpourri of Hard Rock, Funk, & Soul. Sadly, in the musically-polarized 1970s radio playlists, their sound was too hard rock for Soul stations, and too funky for R&B stations. The band dissolved when their last MOTOWN album - and last overall - entitled THIRD FROM THE SUN was shelved, after the MOTOWN subsidiary PRODIGAL was terminated (Thats another story)..and not long afterwards PRATTs Uncle Jack was killed in a motorboat accident. This BRILL album was produced by JOHN RYAN, renowned for his producing STYX, BLACK OAK ARKANSAS, CLIMAX BLUES BAND, The GAP BAND, and RARE EARTH. Track 3, A-Side of MOTOWN album FEELIN FRESH (PRODIGAL 10024); Also the B-Side of 45 single JUST HOW DOES IT FEEL? (PRODIGAL 0639); Both 1978 releases. Composers : MILO MARTIN, PAUL MARSHALL, FRED ALLEN, ELAINE MAYO, FRANK SAVINO Producer : JOHN RYAN For CHICAGO KID Productions Personnel : PAUL MARSHALL - Lead Guitar MILO MARTIN - Basses The Much Regretted FRED ALLEN - Drums The Much Regretted EALINE MAYO - Rhythm Guitar FRANK SAVINO - Keyboards GEORGE ENGLUND (Son of actress CLORIS LEACHMAN) - Saxes * - ANIMATION TABLE FAVOURITES : The Music That Gets Me COOKIN At The Drawing Board.
