@GOVERNOR_AHMEDS ADVISER HONOURED IN LAGOS Kwara State Governor, Dr. Abdulfatah Ahmed’s Special Adviser on Communication Strategy, Alhaji Abdulraheem Adedoyin, was at the weekend honoured by the Ijomu Oro community in Lagos. Adedoyin was presented with a merit award certificate for outstanding contributions to the development of Ijomu Oro, his hometown in Irepodun Loca Government Area of Kwara State at a colourful ceremony held at the playground of Ransome Kuti Memorial Grammar School, Mosalasi, Surulere. Cited among his numerous contributions to Ijomu Oro’s development were his constant financial and logistics supports and the facilitation of a N210 million asphalt road project by the Ahmed administration which was personally commissioned by the governor four months ago. The governor’s Special Adviser on Special Duties, Alhaji Aliyu Mohammed, represented him on the occasion. In the Kwara State delegation were the Senior Special Assistant on Land Matters, Alhaji Muyideen Abdulquadri, the Permanent Secretary, Government House, the Chairman of Ilorin East Local Council, Lateef Okandeji, the Chairman of the state Board for Mass Literacy, Chief Olabode Adekanye and the General Manager of Kwara Television Authority, Mr. Abdulllateef Adebowale. Also in attendance were the Executive Director, Marketing and Lagos Operations, News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Chief Jide Adebayo, the Executive Director (small and medium enterprises), Bank Of Industry, Alhaji Waheed Olagunju, the President of Orisun Igbomina, Chief Gbenga Adeoti, a media executive, Mr. Ademola Adedoyin. Kwarans in the Diaspora under the aegis of the Kwara State Association of Nigeria, North American inc, were represented by Alhaji Lateef Adeyeye (Atlanta), Mr. Hamzat Kadiri (New York) and Mr. Olaitan Owoniyi (Canada). A 12-member delegation of the Kwara professionals, Lagos was led by its Chairman, Prince Victor Kolade while classmates of Adedoyin in secondary school also came from different parts of the country. Not fewer than 36 clubs from Ijomu Oro, Lagos branch also registered their presence while community leaders at the ceremony included Chief Jamiu Ogunbayo (Onire of Ijomu Oro), Brigadier General Kola Adeyemi and Chief Sunday Aremu (chairman, Ijomu Oro community, Lagos branch) In his address, Chief Aremu, while thanking the Kwara State Government for the N210 million-road project in Ijomu Oro, sought the government’s assistance in the areas of healthcare services and fixing of the community’s waterworks. Speaking on the occasion, Adedoyin, who is also the Oloriewe of Oroland, thanked the community for the award, promising to continue to offer his best services to his hometown. He announced a donation of N1 million on behalf of his family and friends who graced the occasion.
