GaDaH is signing up to become a Partner Agency with the San Antonio Food Bank. This will allow us to get donated PET FOOD, at times throughout the year, which we will then distribute to the low income families in our area, which will be concentrating on Devine. I have the paperwork to complete, and have to attend a class, get a storage shed of which the food will be kept, and an inspection of this shed will take place. Once all that has been done, we will hopefully be approved. If anyone is interested in running this project, it will mean traveling out to Devine, occasionally to distribute food, or deliver the food, please let me know. There is some paperwork involved, families who apply must complete applications, which we have to keep and submit records of to the SA Food bank. A benefit to the rescue for providing this service is that no more than 20% of the food donated can be purchased at very low cost to the rescue for rescue use. If anyone is interested, please let me know. I do intend speaking to the GaDaH vet, Devine Vet Clinic to see if they would be allow distribution to take place there. I have other ideas, about asking for donations from companies for a GaDaH food bank, but we will see how things go. At the moment, I have no idea what the need or demand in Devine is, but I hope to be able to meet with the ACO and get their take on things.
