Gallipoli was an eight month joint effort by the English and the French to capture the Ottoman capitol at Constantinople. It has been considered one of the major failures of the Allies during WWI. Almost half-million men combined, Allies and Ottomans, became casualties during this campaign. This was an interesting article about photos taken by an Australian medic.
