Gayatri Ketharaman, a 15-year-old girl, from Pune won the Doodle4Google contest for 2013 with a doodle titled Skys The Limit for Indian Women. Google holds the doodle contest for school kids in India every year on a particular theme and features the winning entry on its homepage on Childrens Day. For this year, the theme was celebrating the Indian women. Her doodle had to be a close resemblance of the word Google.The letter G depicts a dancing girl in classical attire next to a traditional instrument Mridangam. This is the portrayal of one of the many talents that a woman possesses. Next to that a balance used to depict the two Os on either side. It is a very thoughtful portrayal of balancing nature of the woman as she balances between her own career as well as taking care of the household. The other G denotes the rocket flight from Earth to moon denoting that there has been no field that lies untouched by woman. The letter L denotes the most sensitive and crucial trait called motherhood that only a woman can truly express and feel. The letter E is a cops hat denoting that a woman is also a lover of justice and believes in fair judgment. Thus, the doodle celebrated the spirit of Indian women extremely well and aptly named Skys the limit for Indian woman. This year’s jury – reputed actor Kirron Kher and political cartoonist Ajit Ninan.
