Gday all! When starting to build mass your training focus should be around the use of compound exercises. So exercises that involve more than 1 joint like squats for example where you use your hips, knees and to a small extent your ankles. By doing compounds you maximise your muscle use which will aid in muscle production. During my bulk I aimed to build big dense muscle through the use of heavy weights and lower repetition for example dead lifts 9 sets x 3 reps as heavy as I could hold. Obviously without the right nutrition your efforts will be less effective. Great compounds are: Squats Dead lifts Standing over head press Bent over rows Bench press Stay fit, stay healthy and cast a big shadow!
