Gearing up for your fit New Year? Be on the watch for these fitness trends in 2015. And the winner is.....( funny I have been ahead of the trend specializing in the top four for a period of time- join me in the new year!) Forget spinning, rowing and even CrossFit. The top fitness trend for 2015 is all about getting back to basics. The ACSM recently released their annual fitness survey and the top spot went to: bodyweight training. The annual survey examines trends in the commercial, clinical, community and corporate divisions of the fitness industry. Check out the top spots that round out the survey and let us know if you’ll be trying any of them — or if you already have. 1-Bodyweight Training: This trend uses minimal-to-no equipment, making it inexpensive and easy to do anywhere. Push-ups, planks, lunges and squats. If you’ve recently incorporated more body weight exercises into your workout routine, you’re part of a growing trend. 2-HIIT Training: High-intensity interval training has been trending for a few years now. The method — go hard for a brief period of time, recover, then hit it again — is great for those on a time-crunch (ie – everyone). 3-Certified Personal Trainers: There’s nothing like working with a pro to access, set goals and help you with meeting them. 4- Strength Training: Seems like a staple that isnt going anywhere. Muscle builds your metabolism and helps you burn baby burn!
