Geelani slams Khurshid Calls for shutdown on Oct 27 Srinagar: Ridiculing the recent statement of External Affairs Minister Salman Khursheed, Chairman Hurriyat (G) Syed Ali Geelani said that the rhetoric with regards to Kashmir being an integral part can in no way change the obvious realties. His (Salman Khurshids) remarks about the Kashmir issues are unrealistic and their stance cannot justify their forced military occupation of Kashmir, said Geelani in a press statement while appealing for complete shutdown on 27th October. Geelani has urged people to observe complete shutdown on 27th October. This day is an inauspicious day in the history of Kashmir when forcibly we were made slaves. Till 1947 Jammu and Kashmir was a free and sovereign state and as per the principles laid for the partition between India and Pakistan, it is clear that Kashmir is not in any way a part of India however India with its dint of might forcibly occupied and landed its troops in Kashmir and turned it into their colony, Geelani said while adding that the people of Kashmir will convey a message on 27th October to world that they would never acknowledge the forced occupation and will pursue the freedom struggle till last trooper leaves the Jammu and Kashmir. § pathan
