General strike called in Manipur MU NEWS/IMPHAL, Sep 09 : Demanding release of the volunteers and executive members of the Joint Committee on Inner Line Permit System (JCILPS) without any condition and suspension of police officer Y Victoria, a 24 hour general strike has been called in Manipur. The general strike which was called by JCILPS, will effect from the midnight of 9 September. The announcement was made by the Convenor of the JCILPS Ibotombi Khuman during a press conference in Imphal today. In the meantime 12 members of the JCILPS who were arrested by police on yesterday were remanded in the police custody till September 23 following an order issued by CJM Imphal East, sources said.
