Gent Knights vs Twins report: There is a lot to say and nothing to say about this game...The twins lost 13-3 which is not entirely surprising given the less than favorable weather conditions and the fact that the knights are a second division team compromised of mainly Dominican republic players. The Twins started poorly and slowly, one could blame the lack of any kind of warm up or infield outfield drill due to most of the team being stuck in traffic (thank you Brussels) until 5 min before the game... But than again their starting pitcher combined velocity with accuracy which gave the twins no chance of reaching base early in the game. Oppositely the twins made errors in defense and the base umpire did his best to make dubious calls at best. The home plate umpires strike zone was tighter than a mail box and yet at times as wide as a truck...this was problematic to the twins pitchers throughout the game and probably most of all to Craig who seemed to be painting the corners of the box perfectly but just wasnt getting strikes called... However once the Twins got warmed up and Coach Johan made some changes the game evened up. Tom and Arno even managed to turn a double play! clever back up from Centerfielder Matthew who spotted the runner at 3rd base rounding for home and proceeded to quickly line the ball to Cather Chris who proceeded to smack the runner at the plate. The Knights switched pitchers and the twins started to reach base and score runs! For the Twins Kris took the mound and threw some wonderful trash pitches which brought the Knights offence to a grinding halt. when all was lost Coach Johan brought Matthew to the mound to make his pitching debut. though he also struggled with the tight strike zone he started by striking out the first batter. (apparently someone filmed this and it will be uploaded later) All in all despite losing the twins did well against a second division team! The twins start their season against the Frogs on Sunday the 13th of April!
