Geography-Tenure-track Assistant Professor Position The Department of Geography at Keene State College invites applications for a full-time tenure- track Assistant Professor in Human Geography with a focus on Tourism, Outdoor Recreation or Planning, to begin August, 2015. The successful candidate will be expected to teach three courses per semester, including an introductory course in Human Geography and additional upper level courses that contribute to new department specializations in Tourism and Recreation and Sustainability Planning. Additional responsibilities include advising students and service to the department and the College. Ability to integrate quantitative research methods, GIS, and related technologies in coursework is desirable. We strongly encourage individuals to apply who will support the College’s ongoing efforts to provide opportunities that help students become responsible global citizens. The Department is currently growing its program to emphasize promising career fields of interest to students, including sustainability, urban planning, and outdoor recreation. The ideal candidate will be able to help shape these specializations and is expected to maintain strong relationships with outside agencies and organizations for potential research and internship experiences. Qualifications Required: A Ph.D. in Geography at the time of appointment, college teaching experience; an active scholarship agenda. Additional Desirable Qualifications: Working knowledge of ArcGIS or related software. Current rank minimum for an Assistant Professor is $61,720.
