George RR Martin – The Day Wordstar 4 stops working is the day I stop writing. Crikey. People with long memories may remember Wordstar. I certainly do – it was undoubtedly the most user-hateful program Ive ever had the misfortune to try and learn, and I ditched it in an instant (in 1986) for a Mac and Microsoft Word 1.0, which had a learning curve of about half an hour. Though I can understand why George, having gone through the agony of learning Wordstar, might be reluctant to give it up.
