Georgetown, Texas – Two Gateway College Prep School seniors will be taking their respective athletic talents to the next level at four-year universities in Missouri and New York State. Jonathan “Bubby” Stepp accepted a scholarship offer from the Park University Pirates, a NAIA college located near Kansas City, Mo. He was a four-year starter on Gateway’s varsity baseball team and was named “All-District” pitcher and first baseman in District 26-1A (Region 4) this past season for the 22-4 Gators. As Gateway’s ace on the mound, Stepp compiled a 7-1 won-loss record with an ERA of .026. His only loss came at the hands of Weimar High School during the UIL Area playoffs. He is the son of Mark and Stephanie Stepp of Georgetown. Breanna Dapra will compete on the Niagara University volleyball team in Niagara Falls, New York. The Purple Eagles compete in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. She was a starting middle blocker for the Gator junior varsity team and her club team, Club Max Performance in Austin, Texas. DaPra was recruited by Salem International University, Clarkson University, Christian Brothers University, Highlands University, Colorado Mesa University, and Hendrix College. She is the daughter of Michael and Kim Dapra. Her father currently is stationed at Fort Hood and serves in the 158th aviation regiment of the 82nd Airborne Division.
