Buford had three first-half turnovers and led only 14-3 when LB Korie Rogers intercepted a pass at the Buford 10-yard line just before halftime. Next: Friday at Fannin County (2-5) 2. (2) Cartersville (7-0) Last week: Beat Gordon Central 63-16. Brooks Barden threw six TD passes in the first half. Klin Heath scored touchdowns on a reception a run and a fumble return. Next: Friday at Adairsville (5-2) 3. (3) Washington County (7-0) Last week: Beat Swainsboro 62-15. Washington County had three backs over 100 yards rushing - Danyale Wicker (104 yards on seven carries), Melvin Hill (101 on eight) and A.J. Gray (125 on six). Hill also had an 80-yard kickoff return for a touchdown and 203 all-purpose yards. Swainsboros Robert Thomas rushed for 200 yards and scored on an 83-yard run. Next: Friday at Thomson (3-4) 4. (5) Carver-Columbus (6-1) Last week: Beat Southwest of Macon 52-6. Jawon Pass (10-of-16 passing, 244 yards) threw four TD passes in the first half, two to Dreilon Feeeman covering 63 and 72 yards. Carver led 40-0 at halftime. Next: Friday at Central of Macon (1-6) 5. (6) Hart County (7-0) Last week: Beat Jackson County 54-14. Hart County had more than 400 yards rushing. QB Dakota Mitchell scored touchdowns on runs of 8 and 9 yards and threw a TD pass to Josiah Sullivan. Sean Harper scored on an 80-yard run in the second quarter.
