Open Air Food Stall/Market location Install 2 more pontoons in Koombana Bay More shade sails on the beach More playground equipment remove most of the small ineffective Sheoak trees between the beach and Discovery Centre level out the sand dune along there as well landscape it all the way along by continuing retaining wall, lawn, more BBQs, Tables etc. Increase the size of the Kiosk, Toilets and paved eating area on the beach side on the Dolphin discovery centre. Plant more Norfolk Island Pine trees and other Evergreens that provide good shade. Landscape the railway reserve area all the way along so that an Open Air Food Stall and Market can be held every week/fortnight or month along the lines of the Mindil Markets in Darwin. Then you would have a similar atmosphere to Mindil with the added bonus of being able to swim (no crocs here). I love the family atmosphere at koombana bay in the evenings in summer cause its sheltered from the seabreeze and safe swimming for young children. The pontoon has been very popular already. Lets develop a great place with the environment in mind being sensitive to the surroundings. We dont need 2 storey or higher buildings along the beach there. It would be a great tourist attraction and wonderful casual place for our locals to enjoy a special beach.
