Geraldine M. Beck June 23, 2014 WATERTOWN, N.Y. — Geraldine M. Gerry Beck, 84, Prospect, Ky., formerly of Watertown, passed away Sunday evening, June 22, in Norton Brownsboro Hospital, Louisville, Ky., surrounded by the comfort of her family. A memorial Mass will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, June 28, at Immaculate Conception Church, LaGrange, Ky. A funeral service will be held at Cummings Funeral Service, Inc., Watertown, NY on a date to be announced followed by burial in Glenwood Cemetery, Watertown. There will be no calling hours. Born Feb. 15, 1930, in Watertown, a son of Charles J. and Laura M. King Marsala, Sr., she graduated in 1947 from Watertown High School. She married Francis “Frank” D. Beck on Nov. 4, 1955, in Sackets Harbor, NY. They resided in Watertown until they moved to Kentucky in 1974. Gerry worked for N.Y. Telephone in Watertown in the 1950s. She was a surgical instrument technician at Regional Medical Center, Madisonville, Ky. for 17 years, retiring on May 15, 1992. She was a member of the American Legion Post 6, Ladies Auxiliary, Madisonville, KY and the Republican Club. Gerry was an avid volunteer in local schools and a devoted member of Immaculate Conception Church, LaGrange KY. Besides her husband, Francis, she is survived by two daughters, Laura A. (Mark E. Olejarczyk), Parker, Colo., and Gina Marie (David L. Murphy), Crestwood, Ky.; three sons, Francis D. Beck, Jr. Syracuse, Charles J. Beck (Dorothy), Fort Worth, Texas, and Mark E. Beck (Judy), Virginia Beach, Va.; seven grandchildren, John and Andrew Olejarczyk, Samuel D. Murphy, Amanda Leigh and Christopher Beck, Victoria Mosher and Ashley Beck; and five great grandchildren; two sister-in-laws, Edith Marsala and Phyllis Oddi, both of Watertown; plus several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Besides her parents, two brothers predeceased her, Charles J. Marsala, July 3, 2010, and her twin, Gerald J. Marsala, Oct. 12, 1944.
