The average age of German women having their first child (30 years old) is one of the highest in the world. Germans gain an extra year of life expectancy every three to four years. Life expectancy at birth has doubled during the last century. On current projections, Germanys population will drop to 69 million people by 2050 and 43 million by 2100.
