Get back in the box, Im not gonna hit you!, I yelled. I was pitching harder than usual to get them up to game speed for a fast pitcher we were going to face the next day. He was a good, solid batter that could hit the ball harder than most on the team, but he always pulled his left foot out of the box when he swung. Id had enough, and told him I wasnt pitching anymore until he trusted me. He reluctantly agreed and decided to change his ways. We took a moment to welcome the change, then I got set while he got set. I threw the ball, he stepped forward instead of out, then he twisted while the ball drilled his back. Next batter.
