Get ready to shop tax-free for 3 days For three short days, it’ll be shop-until-you-drop. The tax-free holiday starts at 12:01 a.m. Friday and since it lasts only 72 hours, you may want to start shopping immediately. Through 11:59 p.m. Sunday, the state waives sales tax on clothes, footwear and certain accessories selling for $100 or less, as well as the first $750 of computers and other technology devices and accessories. If you don’t feel like leaving the house after midnight to go to a 24-hour store like Walmart, you can start by shopping online where you can take advantage of the same tax break. STORE PICKUP To avoid shipping fees, several stores allow you to order items online and pick them up including Best Buy, JCPenney, Kmart, Office Depot, See TYKO, 6A KELLY TYKO BARGAINISTA Article Continued Below See TYKO on Page A06 TYKO from 1A OfficeMax, Sears, Staples, Target, Toys R Us and Walmart. Besides beating the crowds, you can earn cash back on those purchases using a cashback site such as Ebates or by going through many credit cards online shopping sites. However, not all items on these retailers websites are available for in-store pickup. Through Saturday, Target has a special offer for $10 off a $40 store pickup order. WEEKEND DEALS Here are some of the best deals available. Go to TCPalm/ Bargainista to read my taxfree shopping tips and for more deals. Bealls: The first 100 shoppers Friday and Saturday get a scratch-off ticket and a chance to win $5, $10, $20 or $50 in Reward Dollars. You must be 18 or older to get a scratchoff ticket. Bealls has a $10 off a $25 purchase coupon to use Friday through Sunday and all clearance is an extra 30 percent off. JCPenney: On Friday and Saturday, the store has a coupon for $10 off a $25 purchase of apparel, shoes, accessories, fine jewelry and home. This coupon cant be used on doorbusters sales from 3 to 10 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. On the front of the Sunday JCPenney circular theres a coupon for 10 to 20 percent off most items. Kohls: Friday through Sunday, take an extra 20 percent off most purchases with a friends and family pass included on the front of the Kohls circular in Thursday and Sunday papers. Kohls has doorbusters from 3 to 11 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday and through Aug. 6 for every $50 spent after discounts you earn $10 in Kohls Cash. Also starting Sunday and through Aug. 17, get $10 off a kids apparel purchase of $30 or more with a coupon on page 3 of the Kohls circular in Sunday newspapers. Old Navy: Before shopping at Old Navy or Gap, first head to Publix to buy a gift card. Publix has a coupon in the Smart Savings coupon booklet for $10 off a $50 Gap Brand gift card. At Old Navy, get 10 percent off purchases of $50 or more for the tax holiday and for every $25 you spend, youll earn $10 in Super Cash which you can redeem in September. Target: Get $10 off $40 store pickup orders placed at Target through Saturday. Starting Sunday, get a $5 Target gift card with $25 school supplies purchase and the coupon from page 3 of the circular or by texting SCHOOL to TARGET (827438). Backpacks and lunch kits are excluded.
