Getting Your Edge Back DAY 19 — BROKENNESS Romans 8:26 — “Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groaning which cannot be uttered.” Brokenness is the ultimate sign of maturity in Christ, because it brings a greater trust in the Lord. When “we are weak, He is strong” in us. It is in times of weakness (brokenness), that we really must place our trust in God, by taking the time to pray earnestly, allowing the Holy Spirit to intercede on our behalf. Pray: “Father God, I know You are the same ‘yesterday, today, and forever.’ You appeared in my life and said, “My grace is sufficient for thee.” So in remembering all You have done for me, I can walk in Your faithfulness assured of Your care. Thank You for Your newness each day, as I allow You to change my character, and me so I can walk with You in righteousness. God, make me complete by putting all my broken pieces together! Mold me in Your ‘image’ dear Lord, knowing that I am nothing without You! (John 15:5) In my brokenness, I declare that You are my source and sufficiency. Thank you for the Holy Spirit that prays through me, the perfect prayer, especially when I do not know what I need. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
