Getting serious on social media is not usually my thing, but I think I need to address this. Last night, I saw someone that I havent seen in a long time. While making some small talk she mentioned that I have a daughter and Im not married. I was raised Catholic and understand the importance of a traditional timeline in a persons life, so I dont get offended when people mention this fact. She then went on to say that her daughter is going to now start expanding her family BECAUSE she is married. I smiled and politely ended the conversation. What I want to address is no matter the legality of my relationship it is not a free-for-all, we did not have a daughter on a whim and hope for the best. Our relationship may not be the most conventional but it works for us. We are no less committed to each other than a married couple. Justin and I are a family (along with Miss Mae of course). Eventually we will be legally bound, it may be a beautiful ceremony or it may just be an afternoon at a court house. No matter how or when, I would like to assure everyone that the paper we sign will not prove our relationship anymore than what time already has not. Have a good day world!
