Getting this camp ready for the kids is a lot of work (but I love it). But it cost a lot. Getting a next day package with a part to fix the chlorinator for the pool today (I hope). We bought the chlorinator just last year ... however ... somebody (me) didnt know that he was supposed to keep this little rubber tube lubricated. It didnt cost much and it wont take but a few minutes to fix when the part gets here. Last week Carlus and I used a shop vac to remove the wet sand from the huge filter and replaced it with 500 pounds of new filter sand ... the water is so clear now that it kinda sparkles. By in the morning the chlorine and Ph and all that stuff will be perfect and it will be ready for swimming. Carlus nor I ever had a pool before (growing up ... our pool was the North Fork of the Kentucky River) so it has been a learning experience .... didnt know a pool was so much work. I gave up trying to figure out all this chlorine, free chlorine, (you dont even want to know what causes that to be high), total chlorine, PH, alkaline etc... so I sent Lema and Rae Ann to an all day class at the Health Department last week. Better to let them do the chemistry and the math. Carlus and I will stick to carpenter and maintenance work. (you dont even want to know what all that maintenance work includes. I love it though. All the time we were sucking out all that wet sand and packing those 50lb. sacks of new sand (it was probably 90 degrees in that pump room) ... I was thinking why am I doing this ... then I thought in a couple of weeks I can look down and it will be full of kids ... so I concluded all those kids having fun ... thatll be cool. However, on Saturday evening I had one of those moments .. you know what I mean. Walked out of the house and saw a little girl sitting on the side of the pool with her bare feet dangling in the water. Its like the Lord said thats enough ... just one little girl ... dont have to be FULL of kids ... just one is enough. Thats what you call .... the Lord adjusting your attitude. And I LOVE IT.
