(©GettyImages) Real Madrid are targeting a move for Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois as part of a recruitment drive launched by Jose Mourinho, according to the Daily Mirror. The Chelsea boss moved back to Stamford Bridge last summer after an indifferent time in charge at the Bernabeu. During his time in the Spanish capital, Mourinho ordered Real Madrid scouts to compile an extensive dossier on the worlds best shot-stoppers with a view to signing one in the near future. The dossier, which is now completed, has come back with Courtois at the top of the list, who, ironically, is owned by the Blues. A source told the Daily Mirror: “As soon as Courtois arrived on loan at Atletico from Chelsea, a file was opened on him under instructions from Mourinho. “The information built up is exhaustive and Courtois is on Madrid’s list of targets, despite the presence of Iker Casillas and Diego Lopez in Carlo Ancelotti’s squad.” Courtois, 21, joined Chelsea from Genk in 2011 but has yet to play for the club, instead spending three seasons on loan to Atletico Madrid. During that three year spell the Belgian has grown in to not only one of the best young goalkeepers in the world but one of the best keepers overall. But Chelsea still cant guarantee Courtois first team football at Stamford Bridge next season as Petr Cech remains the firm number one in west London. Courtois is not willing to spend a season playing second fiddle after growing accustomed to first team football at the Vicente Calderon. That has given the elite clubs of La Liga hope that they can convince Chelsea to part with the starlet in the summer. Atletico Madrid are understandably keen to seal a permanent deal for the player while Barcelona are also looking for a long-term replacement for the out-going Victor Valdes
