Ghana risk being banned from international football if they press on with a government sponsored investigations into their World Cup campaign Fifa has warned Ghana over a possible ban from international football if they go ahead to probe the Black Stars’ campaign at the World Cup under government auspices. The West African nation’s president John Dramani Mahama has set up a three-man Commission of Inquiry to investigate happenings in Ghana’s camp in Brazil. The Sepp Blatter-led organisation has written to Ghana to steer off a possible sanction. “We would like to remind you Fifa member associations must manage their affairs independently, without any third party influence,” the letter read. “Should any decision be rendered by the Commission against GFA officials thereby removing them from office, it would be considered as interference in the GFA affairs and the case would be brought to Fifas highest instances for appropriate sanctions.” “We refer to the power that the Commission would have to remove any member of the Executive Committee of the President of the GFA in case of adverse findings,” the letter signed by Deputy Secretary General Markus Kattner added. It continued: “We are confident that you will reach an understanding with the Commission and that you will collaborate as long as the autonomy of the GFA is respected. These are issues which are strictly in the competence of GFA. “Thus the competent body to discuss these issues should be the GFA Congress, and not any outside body.” The four-time African champions’ campaign hit a snag over bonus row and player-official altercations that resulted in axing midfielders Sulley Muntari and Kevin-Prince Boateng from the Black Stars camp. Ghana finished Brazil 2014 with a point after a group battle with the USA, Germany and Portugal.
