Ginebra to play Korean pro club Changwon LG Sakers in Manila exhibition game Barangay Ginebra San Miguel is set to face a visiting South Korean side in an exhibition game in September. The Gin Kings will collide with Changwon LG Sakers of the Korean Basketball League in the event dubbed as the “Asian Basketball Showdown” organized by Korean electronics maker LG. The game is slated on September 9 at the SMART-Araneta Coliseum. “This is history in the making. We are treating Filipinos to a one-of-a-kind opportunity to witness firsthand the excitement of watching Korean and Filipino cagers clash at the hard court,” LG Electronics Philippines managing director Mr. Sung Woo Nam said. The crowd-favorite Ginebra will be clashing with one of Korea’s popular clubs in the LG Sakers, who has led the league attendance for eight of the last 10 years in the KBL.
