Girl ‘Raped’ by Police in Nagaland A 19-year old girl was reportedly “kidnapped and raped” in Mokokchung by a policeman. Meanwhile, Tenyimia Union Mokokchung (TUM) has strongly condemned the “abduction and rape of the 19-year old girl”, a bonafide member allegedly by one “Takukaba havildar of DEF Mokokchung”. The union said it was anguished that such crime was committed by a police personnel who was suppose to be a guard and protector of the public. TUM appealed the law enforcing agencies to take severe action against the culprit and award befitting punishment. SP Mokokchung said a complaint was lodged by one “one Havildar Pekruzenyu of DEF Mokokchung on March 5, 2014 stating that his niece was kidnapped by Havildar Takukaba (DEF Mokokchung) of Yajang ‘C’ village”. In this connection SP said a search was conducted by Mokokchung police station, Police rescued the victim and nabbed the accused on March 6. s:TNT
