I was hurt to read someone wrote slavery must not have been so bad because look at the longevity of these women. I am so grateful these women lived as did an ancestor who was child when freed and 104 when she died. I give honor to all who suffered inhumane things died at the hands of researchers, etc. during slavery It was a African woman that suffered so we could have some of the instruments and procedures used today for womens health. She lived and suffered inhumane things and died. Two years ago I ended up on land where the slave owner killed all his slaves rather then free them. I enjoy moving around freely without a slave owner controlling my life. Just needed to remind us these women lived long lives because of who they are not because of slavery.
