“Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you” (Matthew 7:6). God blesses you according to what is in your heart. If you are being kind, giving, loving and sharing it is the nature of your heart, and you should do everything without looking for anything in return. God blesses a cheerful giver that does not expect rewards from the world. However, at times we are hurt by the same people whom we help. Never let the culprits change your heart because it would be changing the very thing that God wants to bless. It is not worthy to lose your blessings because of other people’s flaws. Just guard your heart and divert your works of charity from the manipulators to others who are in need of your service. In the parable of the marriage banquette, Jesus instructed His disciple not to beg those who turned down His invitation. He instructed them to go to the intersections of the highways, and invite as many as they can find (Matthew 22:2-14). Happy Labor Day to you all that labor in the harvest of souls.
