Given all the chaos resulting in Ferguson, I feel I should say one - TopicsExpress

Given all the chaos resulting in Ferguson, I feel I should say one thing regarding what has ensued from the case, not from the case itself. It would be the following: Too many people are caught up in the entropy of the situation. As soon as they hear the phrase, A white cop has killed an innocent unarmed black man, they jump the gun instantaneously without even considering potential, antagonistic evidence to such a claim. How many of them who are pissed off have actually done a good deal of research on the subject? A couple dozen minutes of reading, and you will see that this case is not necessarily black and white (that phrase works two ways). Heres a few sources to get started: conservativetribune/new-autopsy-michael-brown/ nytimes/2014/11/26/us/ferguson-grand-jury-weighed-mass-of-evidence-much-of-it-conflicting.html washingtonpost/politics/official-autopsy-michael-brown-had-marijuana-in-his-system-was-shot-6-times/2014/08/18/8c016ef8-26f4-11e4-8593-da634b334390_story.html My point being is this: People play the race card very quickly, and look what ensues. Its dangerous. I am not denying that this could have possibly been a true killing out of bigotry (I personally dont think so from everything Ive looked at), but you have to understand the other possibility of it being a true act of self-defense. What happens for the officer then? An innocent man and his family are incessantly harassed and receive a myriad of death threats every single day. In a nut shell, racism is still a very prevalent problem, but it can most certainly be abused as an accusation in many situations. Dont forget that. Look at all the damage that has been caused by all these people. Are they really behaving much better than what they make the cop out to be? Theyre all hypocrites! I see all these posts with unusual hashtags regarding white and black people, and I honestly think people are pushing the wrong agenda for that reason. Again, let me emphasize that I acknowledge there is a possibility that it was a killing out of bigotry. But I must also immensely emphasize that you have got to be careful when playing the race card. Too many people end up not thinking straight, and the damn national guard has to get called in. Its ridiculous!
