Given that I am a natural evangelist, aka when I like something, I enthusiastically to the point of annoying chat about it to everyone -- Ive been wanting to do a series of recommendation posts about the software, products and tools I use every day, so that others can benefit from them as well. If I were to start such a series, then certainly my first suggestion would be FitnessBlender, with which I begin every day, 7 days a week. The friendly website offers hundreds of free well-made exercise videos, geared for every fitness level and searchable by length, type, calorie burn, body focus, and equipment. They also have organized workout programs both paid and free: this week, it is a 5-day challenge for busy people, which means a new workout under 30 minutes long comes out every morning, and all you have to do is follow along. I am posting this fresh off of doing Day 4 (dont worry, I showered first). Highly recommended - you dont need to buy anything (all equipment is optional), go anywhere (so you can do it whenever the fancy strikes you and youre always close to the shower), wear anything (I confess to many an underwear-clad weight-lifting session), adhere to anything (you can choose kickboxing one day and swing a kettle-bell the other), or know anything (they explain technique thoroughly and have beginner adaptations). And it is effective. Since May when I first started using it, this website has changed the way I think about exercise; it has had a very real impact on my fitness capabilities, my overall approach to a healthy lifestyle, my understanding of my own body (and the way said body looks), and the state of my wallet - because Ive dropped my costly gym membership. Anyone got to the end of this lengthy post? Thoughts? Should I go on? If so, is Facebook OK, or is it better to start a blog?
