Given the LSH Couples Poll and the question of how romance-minded - TopicsExpress

Given the LSH Couples Poll and the question of how romance-minded the group is, it made me remember one of my favorite Legion stories I read as a kid. It was a Tales of the Legion backup feature in Action #381 called The Hapless Hero. Shrinking Violet has been stood up for a date with the ever-busy Duplicate Boy, one of the most powerful heroes in the universe. Matter-Eater Lad, in a bit of teen angst brought on by home life & financial woes, runs into Vi and offers to take her out on the town. Duplicate Boy shows up (not quite so busy as he thought, after spying on his gal & MEL) and confronts his romantic rival. Its an entertaining tale with a lot of heart. And the un-even confrontation just felt right, as MEL refused to back down despite being hopelessly outmatched. Even as a kid, I thought Make it a costly victory for DB! He gets a fist near your face, the Integalac headlines tomorrow should read: Duplicate Boy has hand bitten off during super-teen rumble! Matter-Eater Lads remains still unaccounted for! In the story, it works out pretty well for all concerned, actually. :)
