Giving Chip Kelly the power he has could spell trouble for the Eagles organization. Kelly has a HUGE ego. He wants the Belichick treatment in just his 3rd season overall In the NFL. He wants to run everything. There has been some confusion to whos going to negotiate contracts with players. While the Eagles gave Howie the job of EVP of Football Operations , (Meaning he negotiates all contracts of FAs and Draft picks) According to Jeff McLane , Chip Kelly gave his personal number to two agents saying he runs EVERYTHING , so they would contact Chips personal number and not Howie or any of the Eagles front office positioned staff. Also Eagles director of Football administration is currently doing Rosemans job as hes been handling Maclins contract situation. I dont know about you but this sounds like trouble and could affect the Eagles getting the assistant GM they want and signing FAs they want. If the Eagles didnt give Chip Kelly the power he has now , Eagles would be searching for their new HC after just two seasons... Thoughts? -Fred
