Giving an example of Gujarat in terms of availability of water, Modi took a jibe at Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit, and said that her government has failed to provide water to its people, despite its proximity to the Yamuna River. “9000 villages in Gujarat got water. Can you imagine the size of the pipeline? Sheila ji and her family can drive a car through it. You all live near Yamuna, but still run out of water. Congress in power for 15 years but have not been able to give water” - Narendra Modi.
